In convincing your friend to get himself treated, you may want to do a drug intervention. You can pool together his closest (sober) relatives and friends, and make him realize that intake of drugs is not going to do him any good. Make him see what treatment can do to him– which is bring him back his normal life. You might also want to get an intervention specialist to facilitate the intervention. The links below will help you find specialists, as well as drug rehabs.
