Drug Abuse Within Hispanics?

Question by ?ib?ral: Drug Abuse Within Hispanics?
I am doing a 10 minute presentation on the topic of drug abuse within the hispanic community. My question to you all is how should I narrow it down? What specifically should I talk about? Are there any organizations that I should mention? Do you know of any statistics? This is not due for a few weeks and I was wondering what the main concern is with the rest of the world? Or, at least people within yahoo answers. This is for my chicano history class and we would all appreciate your comments. Most of the people in my class are latinos and I know its wrong to assume but, I think they all would benefit from this lecture. I mean, the college is located in the ghetto.

The first thing you should do is to focus on a particular “Hispanic” group. Such as Mexican, Salvadorian, Puerto Rican, Cuban, etc. You may want to look at how drug abuse by the parent affects the development of their children or focus on how drug abuse among teens affect their status in school and education.
I don’t know of any groups that cater specifically to “Hispanic” groups, so just focus on those that are available for all groups.

Try using google scholar to find journals and books that give more information.
