Who is Heather Dylan?

Question by Katya A: Who is Heather Dylan?

Answer by _anonymous
Early Life and Family
Born Heather Mae Lahey on June 13, 1990 in Johannesburg, South Africa is the adopted daughter of Jakob Dylan and Nicole Paige Denny (now former actress, Paige Dylan). Dylan was granted sole custody of Heather in 1999, when she was just 9 years old. Her name was promptly and legally changed to Heather Amor Dylan in 2000. Heather’s first language is Afrikaans, English is her second she is also semi-fluent in Bali. Her birth parents are Richard Lahey, a real estate broker and her birth mother Corine Lahey, is the manager of the Westcliff Hotel in Johannesburg. She had one sister, Nicole Lahey and is a fraternal twin to a brother Broden Lahey who died at the age of 4 due to heart complications. Ironically, her parents thought since they can not raise the twins together, that they didn’t want Heather. Mr. Dylan became aware of the situation and took care of her until legal paperwork was filed. Aside from her birth family, she has four brothers but is the oldest. She currently resides at her family’s home in Pennsylvania and often travels back and forth to her TriBeCa apartment in New York City. Heather is known for being a relatively private person. She does not like to be in the public eye or having media attention. This could very well be the reason she lives in Pennsylvania. Her birth parents frequently visit her in her PA home.During the summer of ’06 they paid a visit to her home in Pennsylvania. Her family (i.e. birth parents, and sister) were staying with her Dylan’s birth sister, Nicole was killed in July of 2006. Nicole was stabbed in the lower neck by her fiancee for reasons unknown.

Education
Heather attended the American International School of Johannesburg through elementary school. Later, when she became a citizen of the United States, she was enrolled in Brentwood School located in Los Angeles County for three years. Afterwards, she would transfer to The Meadow Lodge Day Treatment Center in Northern California as an impatient. The media assumed there was an ongoing drug related problem Heather was battling, but not so according to her parents. One month after their daughter was admitted in the program, they released a joint-statement to the press: “As parents of a truant child, we have come to the conclusion of enrolling our daughter into a more promising program. We can deny any assumptions of an existing drug or alcohol problem. We simply want Heather to attend school and get the most out of this experience.” Although the Meadow Lodge is known for treating substance abuse problems, the family supposedly arranged that Heather would live on the campus grounds and therefore being ‘forced’ to attend classes. She stayed at Meadow for a year, and after that tried homeschooling. This approach seemed to be the answer because she graduated when she was 15. At age 16, Dylan attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. She bought an apartment and graduated from the program which had a duration of 4 months.

Car Accident
Heather was involved in a life-threatening car accident on March 11, 2006 in Hershey,Pennsylvania. She and a friend were traveling to a nearby venue while traveling on Interstate 83. While a Tractor Trailer driver was under the influence and cut in front of their car. This lead to Heather’s car smashed and literally crushed against a concrete side barrier. The two were hospitalized, the friend was only admitted for 3 days. However, Heather was in the ICU for nearly 2 months. At first, it was reported that she had minimal chance of survival and that she was on life support. In need of emergency surgery because of a crushed spine, she had metal screws and plates inserted into her spine. According to a close family friend, Heather needed physical therapy for about a year and a half following.

Music Career
Following in her father’s footsteps, Heather writes and produces music in her home studio in Pennsylvania.

Do you think politicians should get special treatment from courts? ?

Question by Yourmommadontdancetothattune??: Do you think politicians should get special treatment from courts? ?
Here’s an example for ya.
Tom Gosinski was fired from AVMT after expressing concerns about her addiction and habit of writing prescriptions in other people’s names to get drugs. He says that John McCain himself got her a diplomatic passport, which prevents customs officials from searching her bags, and his aides Mark Salter and Torie Clarke coordinated with him (Gosinski) on Cindy’s logistics for his trips abroad. (Mark Salter is still one of McCain’s top aides.) In 1993, Gosinski told the Drug Enforcement Agency that Cindy wrote false prescriptions in his name that year. McCain claims he didn’t know Cindy was an addict when he got her a diplomatic passport, but that’s hard to believe since she had a stretch in rehab back in 1991. Cindy McCain faced 20 years in prison for obtaining “a controlled substance by misrepresenting, fraud, forgery, deception or subterfuge.” With a wealthy father, high-priced lawyer and Senator husband, she got the lightest possible punishment — charges were dropped in return for her entering rehab. Any regular, much less poor person who had written fraudulent prescriptions, stolen narcotics from a charity and smuggled them around the world would have received several years in prison. Her doctor, for one, lost his license and never practiced again.

No, the law should treat people equally. This kind of corruption and shady inside dealings is another reason why McSame is an appropriate nickname. We’ve seen enough of this the last eight years and are faced with the devastating consequences now and for years to come.

In the Bush administration “the negation of truth is so systematic. Dishonest accounting, willful scientific illiteracy, bowdlerized federal fact sheets, payola paid to putative journalists, ‘news’ networks run by right-wing apparatchiks, think tanks devoted to propaganda rather than thought, the purging of intelligence gatherers and experts throughout the bureaucracy whose findings might refute the party line — this is the machinery of mendacity…The point here is not the hypocrisy involved, though that is egregious. The point is the downgrading of truth and honesty from principles with universal meaning to partisan weapons to be sheathed or drawn as necessary. No wonder the Bush administration feels no compunction to honor the truth or seek it; it conceives truth as a tactic, valuable only insofar as it is useful against one’s enemies.” Russ Rymer

America simply can’t afford four more years of the same.

Cocaine Use Stats?

Question by Hunter: Cocaine Use Stats?
Is there any SCIENTIFIC information out there on the percentage of cocaine users who turn into cocaine abusers?

By “abusers” I mean using the drug in excess to where it interferes with daily functioning (job, family, etc.), because I know that there are some people who are able to do drugs on a daily basis and still maintain “normal” lives.

Thank you!

Best answer:

Answer by Indiana Frenchman
depends but most of them do “abuse”

When a patient comes in with unexplained personality changes including irritability, lack of concentration, compulsive behaviors, insomnia and weight loss, then cocaine abuse should be considered (Sadock, 2003). Like alcoholics who will only participate in situations where drinking is acceptable or where they can “sneak a drink” in, cocaine abusers frequently run to a private area once or twice an hour to get high.

In some ways, cocaine abuse may be easier to recognize than alcohol abuse because of physical symptoms apparent even when an individual is sober and not experiencing withdrawal symptoms. The most common form of cocaine ingestion, “snorting”, often causes extreme damage to nasal cavity, in which users will often try to self-medicate with nasal decongestants (Sadock, 2003).

As in alcohol abuse, cocaine abuse can also cause psychotic, mood, anxiety, and sleep disorders. Symptoms of withdrawal include fatigue, unpleasant dreams, insomnia, increased appetite, or psychomotor irregularities (Sadock, 2003). Withdrawal symptoms are apt to be much less severe than those seen in heavy alcohol abusers, and with mild or moderate abuse, regularly reside within 18 hours (2003).

dream about drug addiction?

Question by Dawg the Bounty Hunter: dream about drug addiction?
I’ve been trying to recover from simultaneous adderall and xanax addictions over the past month, and I’ve been feeling withdrawals really hard. I had a dream last night that kinda scared me. I think its about being at war with myself trying to win, but i want to keep it open to other opinions.

In the dream:
I woke up in a seemingly empty warehouse, with four overhead lights turned on, fixated on where I was lying. I was wearing white sweat pants and a white t shirt, no shoes, gloves or anything else. Out of the shadows came a guy wearing black sweat pants and a white t shirt with a black “executioner” mask on, who was my size in height and weight. I instantly knew I had to fight him, and win, because I knew was here to kill me. So a fist fight started, mostly him knocking me around left and right, and knocking me down. I was barely getting any hits in, and when I did they weren’t doing much to stop him. Both being determined to stand and win, we were toe to toe throwing punches and kicks, and we both passed out from exhaustion at the same time. When I became conscious again, I crawled over to where he was lying, took off the executioner mask he was wearing, and he woke up. The other guy was me, beaten and bloody, and looking like one of the guys you see on the “never touch meth” commercials. The executioner version of me started laughing. I can’t remember anything happening next, but I woke up sweaty and pale white. The dream was in first person and the mood was kinda terrified, but motivated, because I knew that if this guy in the dream won, he would have killed me.

Drug Dreams are very very common, if you had gone to treatment (which I highly recommend if you have problems staying clean) you would share these drug dreams every morning with others who have had similar dreams. When I first got clean from adderrall I had dreams for about the first month and then every other week after that…they stopped after about 3 months, but still pop up after 3 years of being sober! It is your brain’s way of healing, the pathways created by the habit of doing drugs are being changed now by not succumbing to feelings that make you want to use – at night your brain heals and tries to make sense of the new pathways you are creating. Be thankful they are just dreams and you didn’t use. If you have trouble staying sober I would recommend these places: http://www.whitesidemanor.com/, http://www.pinegrovetreatment.com/, http://www.cottonwooddetucson.com/

Can my friend get his record expunged?

Question by : Can my friend get his record expunged?
I feel bad for my friend. He’s been trying so hard but he can’t land a decent job because of his criminal record. I want to help him, but I can’t really think of any way other than helping him to get his record expunged. Only I don’t know much about the law, so I’m not sure if it’s even possible. I don’t want to bring it up unless I know for sure he could get it expunged. He did time for a felony when he was 17. He had an arrest before that, there was jail time but no conviction (like he didn’t get sentenced to prison time) because he was under suspicion of committing another violent felony. That was when he was 14. So he has an arrest from when he was 14 and a conviction from when he was 17, that he was tried as an adult for. We’re in New York State if that matters (he was also arrested + sentenced in NY). So do you think it’s possible for him to get his record expunged? If not, how else can I help him?

Thanks,
Anthony

Best answer:

Answer by lillyma
NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services:

“New York State law does not allow for expungement of adult arrest records (those based upon criminal incidents when the individual was 16 years of age or older). However, a record related to an arrest that resulted in a dismissal of the charge or an acquittal may be sealed. A sealed record can be released only for limited purposes, such as if an individual applies for a pistol permit or for employment as a police or peace officer. Additionally, a sealed record may be released to parole or probation if you are under supervision.”

By law, you are eligible for a Certificate of Relief if you have not been convicted of more than one felony.

NYS Division of Parole:

What effect does a Certificate of Relief have on my status?

A Certificate of Relief may remove any mandatory legal bar or disability imposed as a result of conviction of the crime or crimes specified in the certificate. The Certificate of Relief does not, however, enable you to retain or become eligible for public office. Note that removing mandatory legal bars restores your right to apply and be considered for employment or license, but does not guarantee it will be granted.

A Certificate of Relief issued to you upon release or once you are on parole supervision is a temporary certificate. This certificate becomes permanent when you are discharged from supervision. While it is temporary, the certificate may be revoked by action of the Board of Parole.

Hope this helps.
