Will aetna insurance cover a stay at Timberline Knolls treatment center? I’m 16…?

Question by Jazlynn: Will aetna insurance cover a stay at Timberline Knolls treatment center? I’m 16…?
I was depressed when I was in middle school and my parents never knew because it wasn’t extreme. I fight with my parents more than what seems normal for a teen. I have ADHD. I don’t self harm or have an eating disorder. I am just depressed and have a lot of issues deeper than I can figure out. Recently something happened over facebook that caused my parents to have to talk to my school counsilers and they make me go to them and talk each week at school now. they suggested that i get outside help but I want to try to get completely away for a while and try to get better. I have severe mood swings. I get angry very fast over the stupidest things. I barely even talk to my parents. I am defiant against pretty much 99% of the things they say. I don’t give a crap about school. I just need help. How do I get them to let me go out of state too? I live in another state that Illinois. I have a lot of inside issues that i can’t understand and deal with alone and I don’t think just talking is going to make it better. I need to get away to feel better.
I also only have one coping mechanism and it’s music. I have to be listening to music to deal with things in the moment. Like when things are bad at home I just put my ipod on loud and headphones in and ignore everything around me. I believe that if I go away that my life could change for the better. It’s not easy as a teen. In fact, it has been proven teens have it harder today than back in the day.

Why not call your insurance company and just ask? Or go online and see if they have a website that tells you that information.

I smoke cigarettes to help me quit marijuana and it doesn’t work?

Question by Mozin: I smoke cigarettes to help me quit marijuana and it doesn’t work?
I decided a while back that I should smoke a cigarette every time after I smoke a marijuana bowl. This would help me to help me quit smoking marijuana. I heard cigarettes are gross and give you lung cancer so I don’t like it at all. It’s not working though, whats the best way to stop?

Best answer:

Answer by Edward
I’m not trying to be mean, but that really is the dumbest thing I have heard in a long time.

Tobacco products contain one of the most addictive substances on the planet. Smoking cigarettes is only going to get you ADDICTED TO CIGARETTES!!!

First, quit using all tobacco products. When you get that worked out of your system try quitting marijuana. You may need help with tobacco.

Marijuana addiction is primarily mental/psychological. If you don’t feel you can quit it alone, ask for help from a councilor, therapist, doctor, adult family member, or religious leader. If there is a support group for addictions like Narcotics Anonymous near you, going to meeting might help. Just make sure it isn’t one where they replace their drug of choice with cigarettes and coffee!

What are the short-term effects of being addicted to the drug cocaine?

Question by Ashley: What are the short-term effects of being addicted to the drug cocaine?
I’m writing an article about Nicole Richie. I know that she was addicted to cocaine for four years, I think, and I want to expand on that topic. I want to write about the negative effects of abusing cocaine. It will be a sort of wake up call to those who are abusing cocaine and to those who are thinking about abusing cocaine. Through this article, I want other people to realize that Nicole’s life became better when she stopped using cocaine. She became healthier and happier. Please help. Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by rachel
The answer to your question is easy. Just look at Nicole Richie’s old pictures and you’ll get some answers. I’m just kidding. Physically, the pupils of cocaine addicts become dilated. By taking in cocaine, some people develop sleeping problems like insomnia. They may feel restless, anxious and bizarre but sometimes they may feel very energetic and alert. Cocaine users are easily irritated and they usually don’t feel the need to consume food. I think that’s the reason why Nicole Richie is so skinny (although some reports claim that she is anorexic but hey, that’s another thing). Cocaine also affects temperature, blood pressure and heart rate. It also causes the person to behave rather badly sometimes. Cocaine addicts develop a certain aggression which make them very violent at times.

How do I answer these mental health questions when joining the Marines?

Question by Jacob: How do I answer these mental health questions when joining the Marines?
When I was 15 my parents admitted me to a mental hospital due to behavioral issues, I stayed at this hospital for two days with no mental diagnosis. My predicament now is that i’m trying to join the marines and I am worried that that would show up at meps, should I lie about this ordeal and hope they don’t see this on my record or should I tell the truth and hope they do not deny me. Any insight would help thanks.
These are the questions I have to answer honestly,
1.Seen a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, counselor or other professional for any reason (inpatient or outpatient) including counseling or treatment for school, adjustment, family, marriage or any other problem, to include depression, or treatment for alcohol, drug or substance abuse
2.Any illnesses, surgery, or hospitalization not listed above

Best answer:

Answer by Alexis
I cannot stress this enough….ANSWER HONESTLY!! Lol. If its there, they will find it. Considering you were not diagnosed it should not be a problem. If it happens to be a problem, explain the situation to your recruiter and they may be able to get you a waiver. But I honestly don’t think it’ll be a problem

How to make a teenager be more responsible?

Question by man: How to make a teenager be more responsible?
Hi. My brother is 20 years old and currently in his second year of college. He has been doing badly in school due to his addiction to online video games. He would take afternoon naps then wake up at night to play online games with his friends until 3-4am every night. He switched major several times and is not willing to spend time to do his homework.

I have been trying different ways to change him ever since he was in middle school (e.g. limit his daily internet time, took away his X-Box, take him out to do other interesting things such as movies, 5K run, church, volunteering, and other outdoor activities) but he is still addicted to online games. He is already 20 years old and I feel like I can’t take away his games / control him anymore. I even told him that school is not the only option and told him to go get a full-time job. He got job working as a waiter for 2 days and quited because he got bored… I realized that the only long term solution will be for him to want to change himself. So now I don’t even bother taking away his games anymore, and now he is playing days and nights.

What can I do?
