I’ve heard so many stories of people relapsing while in rehab. Are they allowed to leave the facilities unsupervised? Also, do they frisk you when you enter? And why would you even bring drugs to rehab if you’ve already made the decision to get clean?

Drugs are everywhere. No matter where you go, there’s always going to be some type of drug close by.
Look lady, drug addiction isn’t an easy thing to kick. You can’t just wake up one day and be like “hmm I think it’s time to stop”
It eats at you and it’s all you think about. I’m sick of people with no knowledge (besides what they read in a stupid health book) about drugs, going around and calling people that have addictions “weak” and “pathetic”.
*Which I’m NOT saying you are*
I’m around it everyday, I know people that struggle with addictions, and see it first hand. If they were in rehab by force (9 times out of 10 they are) ,hell yeah they would do everything in they’re power to obtain their drug of choice.
It’s easier than you think.

What is Schizencephaly?
Schizencephaly is an extremely rare developmental birth defect characterized by abnormal slits, or clefts, in the cerebral hemispheres of the brain. Babies with clefts in both hemispheres (called bilateral clefts) commonly have developmental delays, delays in speech and language skills, and problems with brain-spinal cord communication. Individuals with clefts in only one hemisphere (called unilateral clefts) are often paralyzed on one side of the body, but may have average to near-average intelligence. Individuals with schizencephaly may also have an abnormally small head, mental retardation, partial or complete paralysis, or poor muscle tone. Most will experience seizures. Some individuals may have an excessive accumulation of fluid in the brain called hydrocephalus.
Is there any treatment?
Treatment generally consists of physical therapy and drugs to prevent seizures. In cases that are complicated by hydrocephalus, a surgically implanted tube, called a shunt, is often used to divert fluid to another area of the body where it can be absorbed.
What is the prognosis?
The prognosis for individuals with schizencephaly varies depending on the size of the clefts and the extent of neurological disabilities.
What research is being done?
The NINDS conducts and supports a wide range of studies that explore the mechanisms of normal brain development. The knowledge gained from these fundamental studies provides the foundation for understanding how to prevent or treat developmental brain defects such as schizencephaly.

Child Abuse?

My niece and nephew say their mother emotionally abuses them. She also keeps them in their house and has them do chores from 7 a.m till bed which is priority over school work during school. She moves them and hides them from us (Dad’s amily). Their Dad is no longer a part of their lives’ so I am lost on what I can do to help them. Next school year they begin homeschooling; my niece starts high school next year. They are both against it but fear saying that to their Mom in fear of punishment. They both want to live with me or their grandmother but we are at loss of what we can do according to California law. They also say their Mother does drugs but I have no physical proof of anything. Help please
My niece is cutting on herself and is depressed, my nephew has ADHD which she refuses to treat
