Question by bryn a: I need to find addiction treatment centers in Rahway, New Jersey.?
I especially want to find those that are willing to take somebody who has a prescription drug addiction. I really want to help out my friend who is addicted to ambien. How could I find treatment centers that can address this kind of addiction?

Best answer:

Answer by BRIANNA S
I’m pretty sure that there are lots of addiction treatment centers out there that can deal with someone who has an ambien addiction. You can take your friend to a doctor and the doctor will then get to tell you which treatment centers to go to. Or you can call the local health services administration and get recommendations from there. The links below will get to help you too. Good luck and I hope your friend gets treated soon!

Professionals only please- what is a good course of action when for a troubled teenage girl?

Question by green kitty: Professionals only please- what is a good course of action when for a troubled teenage girl?
This is not my child, I am trying to find some answers to help a single father. His daughter is 16 years old, she is sexually active with a least one partner maybe more, may have previously terminated a pregnancy, has been experimenting with hard drugs (cocaine) and has always performed fair to poor in school. She has never been aggressive or violent, just very sneaky. The state that we live in does not have a lot of resources for this kind of thing. I don’t know what advice to give.

Best answer:

Answer by ldysam1
He can go to a free clinic (like planned parenthood) they will have options there, or maybe to the guidence counsler at her school. Get some ideas and suggestions. He needs to talk to her, be there for her. She will come around when she feels like it is safe to talk to him and that he will listen and not judge.
Good Luck

How am I supposed to help others live better lives when I can’t even live well myself?

Question by Sahar: How am I supposed to help others live better lives when I can’t even live well myself?
I’ve been spiraling. It’s like my brain’s gone haywire and literally every bad thing I’ve done, every humiliating memory, every step in the wrong direction I’ve taken is coming back to haunt me. It’s making me go crazy. I keep having these dreams, nightmares I should say, about the unspeakable. I’m a part of group at school which is supposed to help other students cope with traumatic events and drug abuse by peer counseling and offering help for those kids who need it. I find it funny how I’m one of the few picked to help others when I can’t even help myself. I’ve been having thoughts of suicide, but I’m too afraid to tell anyone because of fear of I don’t know what. It’s just getting all bad. It’s not just one event causing these thoughts, it’s multiple situations. Situations I don’t have answers to, situations I don’t want to have answers to. My whole life seems worthless. Almost as if every breath I take is just a waste of this good Earth’s oxygen. I want to stop thinking forever.

Best answer:

Answer by Vortex
Sometimes to help others you have to have experienced the same bad things. You seem well equipped to give advice on everything bad. Why don’t you write me and reveal some of the worst thing in your past. I may not be able to help you but I would enjoy hearing about it. Good Luck!

What are the first steps in controlling my food addiction?

Question by NINTENDO: What are the first steps in controlling my food addiction?
I have food addiction. It started when I was a child . My mother would feed me fatty food as a reward for finishing my studies.
As I grew up , anytime I did something related to working hard or studying, I would eat like crazy . Yesterday I had a shrimp basket with fried sweet plantains and chicken with rice from the street vendor .
That’s just yesterday. I been eating junk food for the past 3-4 weeks . Let me put it this way. Whenever I finish a hard project, I have to have Junk Food.

I am on a mission now and all this food addiction is messing up my mission and the health of my body. What’s the first step in putting a stop to this atrocity?

Best answer:

Answer by Brooke Deemer
